In this weeks’ blog, I decided to check out an arcade place that many friends of mine have been urging me to check. The entire arcade is located on the top floor of the Lakewood Mall.
First thing I noticed when I got there was how big the entire mall was. Doing a little research online, I found out that it’s actually one of the oldest fully enclosed shopping centers in the U.S. The mall occupies a whopping 2,093,006 square feet of land.
Anyway, back to the arcade place.
As soon as the electric stairs reach the top floor, one can truly get that feeling of being a little kid visiting Chuck E. Cheese for the first time.
Besides the bowling alley, there are hundreds of game machines everywhere. Many vibrant colors and the sound of kids running around made me remember the old days when my parents would drive me and my siblings to the local arcade every Sunday.
Just like any arcade in the present, they have an updated monetary system in which people don’t have to use physical money to play the games.
Nowadays, many arcades have a system where people who want to play games have to buy a card and add funds to it, which if I’m honest, I miss using quarters to play games.

Besides the games, the arcade also has a nice food place that serves your typical appetizers such as wings, chicken-strips, salads, burgers and beer.
The prices are a little high, but it is understandable given that the place is inside a mall.
After a quick snack, I jumped back to the gaming arcade. There was one game in particular that I eyed since I got there but was packed. It was the shooting game of Halo.

Halo was one of my favorite games growing up. But because it’s only available to X-Box and I’m a loyal PlayStation user, I never had the chance to fully engage in the franchise. So as soon as I saw the game, I wasn’t going to pass on the chance of playing the arcade version of it.
I also played some racing games and towards the end of my visit, I found the Guitar Hero game were people transform into “Rockstar’s” for the lapse of a song.

Overall, I had a pleasant time visiting the arcade. It definitely brought back some good memories. More people should spend at least one day of their week doing something that takes the stress away.
On a personal note, I had a very rough week leading to this week’s blog post.
Going to this place helped me to “detox” from all the negative vibes that I accumulated over the week
I do have to mention that between the food and the games, I ended up spending around $50. So just be aware of that.
Well freaks, I hoped that you guys enjoyed this week’s blog. It was a short one, but meaningful.
I hope you guys have a great week and look forward to next week’s adventure. Until then, play those consoles until they heat up!
Like Walt Disney once said, “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.”
